Primroses

We moved to this house last September and have noticed that there are some primroses (primulas) growing at the front of the house at the boundary between our lawn and next door's garage. We have ascertained that the area is ours (and it needs weeding) but the primroses are not in the best place and would do better to be moved.

Now, if we were to move primroses in the wild we could be prosecuted. My problem is, we don't know whether these were deliberately planted at some point, or if they just sort of "turned up on the wind", so if we move them, could we stand the risk of being prosecuted do you think? (gardens here are all open plan at the front).

If they are on your land, ie your front garden (open plan or not, makes no difference)  then they are not wild...they are your garden plants 

It's not as if you are stealing wild plants from a country hedgerow.
