Baby spinach is a good in betweener while the cool weather lasts, same with the little round carrots (can't remember the variety name).

I agree with Trillium, baby is perfect.

You might try some salad lettuce, bok choi..

I planted some spinich and salad lettuce today inbetween the rows I did yesterday...but will be looking for other ideas.

The nice thing is that if, like me, you consider this free space, its fun to try different things and if you don't get a fantastic crop its okay...you're getting something.

I'm growing beetroot and turnips down the sides of my oca bed.

I've planted some shallots round the edge of a first year asparagus bed and Sutton broad beans around another first year asparagus bed.

Courgettes are going between two rows of borlotto beans.

Trefoil green manure between spring and summer cabbage. Sweetcorn will go between the cabbages later to take over the bed as the cabbage is harvested.

Leftover shallots between the newly planted apple trees.

Lettuce will go in any emty spaces I can find.

Some red onion sets, I over-bought, between the main crop of shallots.

I've just planted surplus little gem, endive and spinach (not perpetual) around where my courgettes will go.  They arent even sown yet so Im hoping these seedlings will be mature enough to harvest before the courgette romps away.

Also radish, and Im thinking of sticking in some spare onion sets I have on the go in pots.  Oh, and radish, obviously!
