any weather geeks on here?
« on: April 25, 2010, 23:38 »
ive studied climatic conditions for a long time now.and as we know the weather is critical in what we can or cant plant at any given time.
i supply advice to local farmers and 3 local nurseries.no i ain merlon the wizard,i just love all things agricultural horticultural and weatherwise.
as got no qualifications at all but if admin doesn't mind i'd love to do the late may frost forecast.
iv'e done this on various forums countrywide for the last 3 years and they have loved it .bob

I love the sound of that.  I still keep saying to OH that we haven't fully got rid of winter frosts quite yet. What do you think?

It's ok by me Bob as long as you put a disclaimer on each forecast saying that you are an amateur forecaster.

I think it sounds wonderful...but...

Would you kindly remember that Cumbria exists?

Even the National Forecasts seem to forget us. Its as if there is a black hole northwest of Manchester and then VOILA!!!! Scotland.

Surely you don't need a forecast for Cumbria do you? (Just wet, wet, wet! )

Cumbria

Isn't that the annoying stretch of the M6? You know, that bit when on the way to Scotland you go past Manchester, think your getting somewhere, and find you've still got like a hundred miles to go?
I hoe, I hoe, it's off to weed I go.

Cumbria

I read somewhere that whereas the county flower of Yorkshire is the white rose and the county flower of Lancashire is the red rose, the county flower of Cumberland is mould.....

"In Cumbria, if you can see the hills, it's about to rain.  If you can't see 'em - it's raining."

Coat being got.
The Dales - probably fingerprint marks where God's hand touched the world
