is it a dry period for winter onions?
« on: April 14, 2010, 14:01 »
went to the plot on monday to see the ground hard around the winter onions area and cracked like dry desert. should i water them or let them try to get water from underneath. I hope the moisture is not too deep as a simple furtle around gets me to a wet soil.
One kid is handful. Two kids.... Example for chaos theory. Hats off to my mum who managed three...

If your soil is anything like mine, it has capped and gone crusty where I haven't hoed.
But just a little bit lower it is still damp, so there is no problem where the roots are :)
