Garlic Yellowing already
« on: April 13, 2010, 19:43 »
Im not sure why but its definitely got a yellow touch to it.  I think I remember adding BFB when prepping the soil (its been a while) I would have thought it would still have been fine.

I don't seem to do very well with garlic - I have the usual suspects in the shed and also some of last years comfrey feed, best thing to give them a little pick up would be ... ?

Give them a dose of nitrate of soda or sulphate of ammonia this should green them up. :D

I have exactly the same problem.  The soil was prepared with growmore, and both the autumn planted and spring planted have started to turn yellow.

Am stumped

Have you watered them too much as if they are watered too much they yello and go all soggy

How long does growmore stay active for?  I am guessing that when the levels drop the leaves will hopefully return to green.  I only gave a light sprinking, but we have had very little rain.

My garlic has done the same, I only had 5 plants to start with and 3 have gone yellow then died. The other 2 are fine, same bed, same feed, same soil! It`s a mystery.

My garlic (and elephant garlic) is looking fine - not given a spring feed yet... first I'll need to find my notes and check to see what it is I put on the elephant garlic last Spring.

Something or other high in potash?
