Photo was taken over a week ago. The tops are now cleared of the tub and have been 'earthed up' once. These are in an unheated greenhouse and the first 2 rows outside are above ground now. I have about 30 plants in the GH which are well away. I like early spuds when they cost an arm and a leg in the shops.

Some of mine have shown in bags on the patio and have had a shovelful of compost tipped on them. Others have not yet. Those planted in the ground went in a bit later so no signs yet. I planted about the 20th Mar

They like well rotted manure :) If what you have is too fresh to use  plant your spuds with some chicken manure pellets, or any general fertiliser, and you will get a crop :)

You won't if you don't plant them
