whats the best way to split up my pallets?

I use an old axe to pry mine apart, hammer it in similar to using a bolster and then leaver them apart. Pulls the planks of the nails.

I've found the best way is to use a Hacksaw in between gaps It's hard work, but it works for me & no splitting

I do the same. I use an old tyre lever to generate a small gap for the hacksaw blade, then cut through the nail without (hopefully) cutting into the wood. Once seperated into planks I either leave the bits of nail in there or if it looks like it might interfere with what I want the plank for I punch them out with a hammer and pin punch.
