ok,probably a silly question  ,but what length canes do people use for their runner beans?I have some that look about 5ft and I don't think they're tall enough.

I'm using 8' canes but a foot or so of that is under the ground.

5' canes with compensation for sticking in the ground are deffo not big enough

I'vew got some that are about 12' tall, but I don't reckon I could pick Runners from anything more than about 6' - say 7' allowing for the fact that the canes are on a slant, and another foot to stick into the ground = 8' total
