I thought this might be of help to anyone who like me has a depressed chicken.
Maudie our  ex-batt gets seasonal depression .In the Winter she stayed in the nest box for 3 days and wouldn't come out, now with the Spring finally here she had taken to sitting under a tree all day ,not a happy girl .There is nothing else wrong with her and I was told it was just seasonal depression , apparently common in Warrens.
Now, my girls love pomegranates ,but the ones you buy are so over ripe that they ferment in days so I've started to add a small amount of  'Pomegreat' juice drink to the water in one of their water bowls.It's very healthy  with vitimans and natural sugars and they love it, especially Maudie, I think it's given her a real boost and  she no longer sits under the tree miserable, instead shes up and busy with the others which is great to see !
So worth a try .
