Well I am a bit of a newbie to this, but I put mine in two weeks ago, but they are in plastic bag type containers and not the ground. No sign of anything yet but I figured it would be a bit early - and I am on the North Staffs/South Cheshire border, so not a million miles away from Manchester. Keeping fingers crossed that they are nice and cosy in their compost beds!

In Cheshire (Macclesfield) first and second earlies went in a week or so back, put my maincrops in today...should be OK, have fleece to hand should they pop up and frost threaten...most on my plot have them in now...
