I've got raised beds, so, should I bury the net below the bottom board or just staple it to the boards?

we use our local farm supply store (farmway) Hexham.
your best bet is search for local fencing suppliers in the book or online.go for the 42" height and you shouldn't pay more than 70p a running metre.it's always cheaper if you can collect heavy items, failing that these lot here dont look too expensive.

Doubt they'll be open over Easter though  :tongue2:

First year on the new plot -- only had it a matter of weeks.

We have 1m high rabbit fencing all around, dug in about 25 cm.

Just a quick question, 1m rabbit netting dug in 25cm, do/can rabbits jump?? And if so, how high??

I spotted rabbits for the first time last week when I was at my lotty, and paniced

Glad nothing's in, yet.....

Oh, So where's the best place around my way for rabbit netting, by the way??

I`ve seen a rabbit jump over a patch of brambles 3ft high, unfortunately for him he met 1oz of 6 shot half way. :)
They can do it but do not generally bother.

Lucky for me I live in a fairly large town & I dont ever see wabbits, although I have never had a plot before so will be keeping an eye out.

If we do have a problem I could always rent Spike to the other holders  :D
I generaly just stick things in the ground green side up.

Binner - the rabbit fence sounds excellent - could you take advantage of the warmth that it'll create by planting some type of trailing plant over / around it? Maybe a butternut squash would like to clamber along the edge?

Just a thought  ;)

thats quite a good idea, tomatos could be good as its south facing too :D
first year grower

What you need is a pile of Woks to throw at them.

We have just spent the morning entertaining rabbiteers working on our land and the neighbouring fields. They spent a nice morning exercising their furry little friends and have taken away a nice collection of bunnies and I now have one soaking in the pot ready to cook tomorrow :D all for the price of a bacon butty.
The reward of a thing well done is to have done it....

Well, my ferrets are indoor, pampered pets and wouldn't know what to do with a wabbit if it bounced up and punched them on the nose!  :tongue2:

I can, however, offer anyone near me a huge supply of ferret poo and pee, all on recycled newspaper pellets or newspaper sheets to sprinkle around the edges of the plot. That should keep wabbits away, however it might keep everyone else away too!
