what's everyone else got planned for the imminent invasion?.

Onions, carrots, spuds and a little seasoning.  ::)

There are none left round here, the only place you can get hold of them is the farmers market.   :(

We can always get onions, carrots & spuds around our way!!  ;) They go well with the wabbit stew and venison.

MIXI wiped most of them out here late last year.we were going round shooting them on the grass verges to end the suffering, even the local plod gave us permission as the state they were in was upsetting to local residents.
it came through like a wildfire.

the 90 gasram is FAC 24 1LBS.great tool out to 80-90 yards and as crisp as anything.
just bought a new scope that compliments the gun itself.still got to give it the run through yet.
the 100 is superb for 30 yard squirrel and rabbit kills.but it lacks the  character and slight recoil of the 90.

i have a fence made from old tin roof sheets sunk into the ground :tongue2:
and the post are two foot higher than the sheets so if they decide they can jump over a three foot fence i can net the top of it

only problem with this is i cant plant too close to it because of the shade but i would loose more to rabbits than i could grow in that un usable part. my allotment is on a site shared by horse paddocks so lots of nice lush grass and we have open fields on three sides.
we acctualy had a family or rabbits take up home in the lean too barn attached to our horse stable last winter, thay are not shy at all
first year grower

Binner - the rabbit fence sounds excellent - could you take advantage of the warmth that it'll create by planting some type of trailing plant over / around it? Maybe a butternut squash would like to clamber along the edge?

Just a thought  ;)

Is that why there's a major increase in magpies round our way also?? Tons of er, 'food'. And no predators to control them??

We've got feeders in our garden, but nothing's touched them over recent years :( :(.

We have an old pit heap near our house that was turned into a nature reserve, I think that's where they're living and breeding!!

First year on the new plot -- only had it a matter of weeks.

We have 1m high rabbit fencing all around, dug in about 25 cm.

Just a quick question, 1m rabbit netting dug in 25cm, do/can rabbits jump?? And if so, how high??

I spotted rabbits for the first time last week when I was at my lotty, and paniced

Glad nothing's in, yet.....

Oh, So where's the best place around my way for rabbit netting, by the way??
