cabage root fly?

a few of us over the last week have fallen victim to the dredded cabage root fly,most have destroyed the infected plants and started again with discs around the stem.Do you have to destroy or is there some sort of portion we could use

once a plant has started being munched by the blighters will they survive?  i mean can they be saved?

Nope, the maggot eats away at the roots and plant die a slow death, dig em up and burn them. I have also been hit, the annoying thing is I use collars and they have still got to them, never known it as bad.

is it a maggot?  mine had little green aphid looking things round it - i thought that was them....
