hiya , u wont need to worry about painting the insides but u could use builders chalk in the seams to help prevent red mite from getting there but i would recommend cupinrol ducks back for the outside someone on here told me about that as it has added wax in it and it shold last slighty longer then the original .

I thinkk Looby means Decorators Caulk which is like a silicone which you use with a skeleton gun.  It's also known as Painters Mate or Decorators Filler.  We sell it for £2.49 a tube.

Was wondering this myself. Going to be getting some quail soon and have got their house all ready but wanted to make the inside as uninhabitable for creepy crawlies as possible and easy to clean out.

I'm paranoid about things like red mite as they are just not a problem with ducks and donb't want to introduce any!
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

Whatever you use, just make sure it is left empty long enough to dry and fumes to go before putting birds in.
