Update:

Just been up to the shed to see if my leeks have germinated (they have!  :)) and took a look at my raspberry patch on the way back (a very quick look, it's freezing out there!)

I dug up six of my established plants and replaced with new earlier this year; the established ones have just started sprouting from the base, the new ones have got live buds on their single little canes but no signs of shoots from the base yet.
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older
