Preparing the ground for parsnips
« on: March 23, 2010, 14:56 »
This is only my second year of growing veg and last year I only grew a few parsnips (to see if I could).

I have read to prepare the ground a week before sowing the seeds, with general fertilizer. Is chicken pellets ok for this or blood fish and bonemeal?

Either will be fine. Just don't dig manure in or they will fork.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.
