Fruit bed and bark chippings

Hi All

Just a quick query i have. I have a nice fruit bed that i would like to look nicer, can i cover this with bark? I am aware that bark on naked soil can strip out the nitrogen during decomposition, do you think i will have problems in the fruit bed? Am growing raspberries, currants and gooseberries.

Ive mulched my overwintering strawberrys with 4 inches of ornamental bark. Looks ok, and since its not dug in it should't cause nitrogen starvation. Ill feed them with a 21-7-18 i have just in case
