Hi all,

I have a new 12ft by 7ft poly tunnel and i want to tie the frame down before i cover it.

What would be best to use for the job, bearing in mind cost?

I've just erected a 2m x 3m, and I've driven 30inch lengths of dexion into thr ground at each corner and the middle (keeping the sharp bits away from the poly) and tied to that.
Haven't had a high wind yet though!

I've just bought 50ft of guy rope. Should do the trick!

I want to put it in a very open spot on my allotment tho, could do with something to buffer the wind.....

Sounds a good idea but how will you attach them?

On ours ,the cover holds the frame down which in turn is held down by the soil around the outside..dig a trench,pull the cover over and down into the trench and bend back up,back fill while pulling on the loose end which tightens it.
we live over 700 ft exposed to the prevailing winds and this does the trick.

I agree with smud6ie
 Am very exposed to westerly winds, but secure polythene  in trench with soil and never had a problem. Do remember to keep the door(s) shut if a gale is blowing.
