New problem...
« on: March 17, 2010, 10:07 »
After a mad 10 days with the ladies they settled down and stopped fighting.

Its been peacefull for a little over a week and now I see that the bloomin bully is at it again pulling feathers out of just one chook?

How on earth am I going to stop this???

Can you seperate the bully for a few days? keep her in full view but this way she should lose her ranking in the pecking order. I will bring a couple of beak clips with me on Sunday so you can fit one of these if you like.
Do you have any anti pecking spray? if not a local pet shop may stock it - I think it's supposed to taste nasty thus stopping them attacking.
Staffies are softer than you think.

Bit of a long shot but worth mentioning when I had this just feeding some kitten food (lots of protein) seemed to stop it.  Could be my imagination of course but I do remember someone on here mentioning that a lack of protein can cause chooks to peck each other.

Might be worth a try?
