Thanks joyfull - we're not too upset because you're right, she had a fab life (not sure about the sunshine bit though where we are ;) ) but I'll still remember the first day when they were able to flap their wings, scratch the ground etc.

The other two don't seem to bothered - I think they knew, and are just doing what they do in the garden today... just hope they don't get sick now - would be sad to lose them all.

I am so sorry about your loss but as every one has said she had a good life living with you. It is very rewarding having ex bats and seeing them in the sun and scratching around for the first time. You will have lots of good memories.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss and I'm now ultra concerned with one of my hens because you pretty much described her symptoms although she has not ejected a sticky liquid, mine has quite a few "spurts" of clear/yellowy liquid.  She's drinking a lot but it has been so hot. It only seemed to come on today/late last night and I'm ashamed not to know how to help her :(. Any advise would be gratefully received and I think I'll be booking her into the vet in the morning :(

hello icklemonkey - have you taken a look at these pages?

Oh and welcome by the way, why not take a look at the rest of the forum and put a posting in the welcome section telling everybody a little bit about yourself  :)

Hi Joyfull!  Thanks, I did take a look at the 'poo pages'.  Unfortunately, the morning after my post we found our girl had passed away where I left her :(  We're gutted :(

I'll introduce myself ASAP!

Thanks x
