Perfect 'Mothers Day' in the garden
« on: March 14, 2010, 18:04 »
Hi all,

I've had a perfect 'Mothers Day' in the garden.  It's been a beautiful day here in Kent.  Spent a few glorious hours digging over and improving the soil in the veg plot with last years grow bag contents.  Created a strawberry bed and checked on the fruit bushes which are just starting to grow new shoots; Gooseberry, blackberry and redcurrents.

I have red onion sets planted in cells in the greenhouse and a window sill full of chilli/tomato seedlings going well.

Cant' wait for more days like today : )

How have you spent your 'Mothers day' ?

Your day sounds perfect.... did it come with dinner cooked for you in the evening?

I belted round to my mum's place, delivered flowers & card, cut the lawn and left her having a pre-arranged hair-do as a treat. I hope the hair-dresser left the kitchen tidy!

And briefly I even had some help (but my kids have a short attention span!)
Am about to have roast dinner cooked by OH (he's a very good cook).
Lotty holder since Aug 09... I've FINALLY finished clearing it! On with the p.lanting  ....
