feeding after manure?
« on: March 11, 2010, 07:37 »
hi everyone,i have dug in plenty of manure into my plots last autumn, would this be sufficient feed for my  plants  to last the whole growing season, or would a top up be necessary later on?

Depends what you are growing.  I feed my 'hungries' like spuds, sweetcorn and courgettes later on in the season (after about 6 weeks)

I use chicken pellets and BF&B when earthing up spuds, and just a general sprinkling of BF&B around the other plants and water in

Also depends on your soil; very light soils tend to need more additional feeding than heavier ones (especially if the season is wet; perish the thought!)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!
