white film on egg

My columbine hen layed an egg this morning with what looked like a white film over the whole surface,it could be rubbed off but i've never seen this before, any ideas what this could be?

Sounds like extra calcium Jonesblack.  My older girls lay eggs like that sometimes, but can't remember why it happens.
