It's never too early for wine!  :)

Spring is later this year than last year so stuff will go in the ground later. It all gets done in the end. I put my spuds in when it feels right to do it and sometimes that is right, sometimes it isn't, C'est la vie!

I'm in a good mood today, can you tell?  :)

Anything to do with the wine? lol - thanks for the cool advice aelf  :D

I thought Aelf was sounding distinctly French (possibly just got a frog in his throat!)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

I always plant mineon good Friday.  The ground will be covered with black plastic sheets for a couple of weeks prior to this to help it warm up.  Once planted I usually cover with fleece if the weather  has been cold to give a lttle protection to tender new shoots as they start.

Never (as yet) had any real problems.

I bunged the spuds in at the end of Feb - I read somewhere that min ground temp is 6c for spuds.

Might have been jumping the gun slightly, but they had chitted nicely, and were starting to reach the point of no return, was a case of get em' in and hope there is no frost...

I covered where tha spuds are going about 3 weeks ago, 2 weeks ago i put down some fertilizer and on the 13th Mar (Sat)in they went. I have covered them with fleece tho. The rest of the spud area is still covered and the soil below is nice and moist.
