As long as the jars were well sterilised and the lids were firmly screwed on, they should be fine. Check for surface mould but chutney is a preserve so it should be preserved!  :)

i had some green tomatoe chutney 2 years on investigating it it tasted like brown sauce to we just perked it up a bit and blitzed it smooth.
also good for bbq marinades .

And it often improves with keeping.... if you can keep it that long!  ;)

another one - make cheese & chutney sandwiches, cut into triangles, place in ovenproof dish, beat 3 eggs with half a pint of milk and pour over sarnies, bake in hottish oven until puffy & golden brown - you could also put more chutney on the side  :D

Dont be daft, no-one on this planet can have too much chutney, just hide the surplus under the bed and when the cupboard has a few gaps, re-stock as needed  :nowink:

I am with Val on this hubby has had chutney 6 years on I went mad when we first got together and made so much runner bean chutney it took him that long to get through it all. And you'll never guess what he said on the last jar "can you make some more"

To help him out I gave him two chutney loving children

Carrotcake - glad you liked it. I hope to be making courgette chutney this year - my no1 favouritest vegetable!!

another one - make cheese & chutney sandwiches, cut into triangles, place in ovenproof dish, beat 3 eggs with half a pint of milk and pour over sarnies, bake in hottish oven until puffy & golden brown - you could also put more chutney on the side  :D

I'll definitely try this - I'd be toying with the idea of a savoury B&B pud - I was going to do a cheese and mushroom one and serve it with bangers and peas but your one sounds even more perfect!!!  :D

I grew far too many courgettes last year. It became a bit of a joke, but it did give me a chance to try all sorts of courgette recipes.

Hubby drew the line at Courgette and Chocolate Cake. He thought I was getting a bit too like the mad old lady on Vicar if Dibley. I shouldn't have told him what was in it, but the green bits gave it away anyway  ::)

If you peel the skin off the courgette first, before grating it, then you don't see the green bits  ;)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
