I have had one pip and take 36 hours so dont panic too much yet. In fact over opening of the incubator will cause them to dry out faster so they may do better for you getting some shut eye and checking on them in the morning. When helping out go slow with and and the slightest sight of blood dampen the egg and leave for ten minutes or so before starting again. Good luck and keep us updated x

so sorry i wasn't here to help, i was watching telly  ::) it seems your doing pretty much all you can do, chicks can take a long time to hatch, i have helped chicks out and have had most of them survive, the trick is to pick gently and pop the egg back in the incy at intervals so it doesn't chill, at the sign of a spot of blood stop as it means the chick isn't ready yet, keeping the incy closed will help with keeping the humidity up, most of all don't panic  ;) the best you can do now is leave them alone and hopefully in the morning you'll have lots of chicks, i kept a forum member up all night with my first hatch, they took forever...............i meddled and fiddled and worried, the second lot i wasn't there when they hatched and they did just dandy without me :D
good luck

thanks, Annie, Cara and Tmg for all coming to the rescue - I am almost tempted to get an incy myself now just to learn about it. No on second thoughts I'll come and visit one of your threes and watch your hatchings instead  :D

Hope the news is good and you have some hatchlings.

I have had similar problems in the past and have had to help out some very gently if the membranes get too dry. Mainly though it is holding your nerve and not opening the incy which is half the problem with the dropping humidity.
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

Nails is probably still asleep from the exhaustion of it all
A bit late I know but I used a hand sprayer to keep the humidity up on my eggs as I couldn't get it high enough without covering the vents (which is not a good idea).
This year I have bought a humidity pump but haven't attached it yet.
The worry of it all.......
Hope all ok Nails.

Good evening evreyone, oh god its like having a baby, i was so worried last night, well when i got up this morning, two aranacana's had hatched so there were 3 fluffies in the inncy, they are now happily eating and drinking in the brooder.
The light sussex well the chick was still alive this morning so loads of sponges and spray before heading off to work, came home and it was still in there but the membrane had dried on to the chick it was almost hard, so i have picked the shell off, which i think was a big mistake, as all of a sudden, this thing which i am assuming is the yolk, but looked like a kidney shape/colour, came out, its still attched to the chick, so i have just laid it all back in the inncy and will leave it to it, but i don't think i have done that one any favours at all. i have another egg pipping so i am just going to leave them to it as i really don't want to lose any more.
Just going to get the camera and will take pic's of the first 3.
Thanks for all the help/advice last xxx
TMG no worries we all have a life and don't expect you to be glue to the PC just in case us novice's have problems, but thank you any way.

What lovely little hatchlings. Sadly I suspect the last one wont make it - but it probably wouldnt have made it anyway and you are doing your very best - good work  :) Hopefully a few more bundles of fluff before the night is out!
