Tidied up the greenhouse, the chillies are still going strong.
Guess this weather will soon kill them off.

Lifting the chrysanthemums is on the list as soon as the plasterers have finished in the kitchen  ::)

Sat on the bench and watched the leaves fall off the giant tree shadowing my allotment and wacthed them land peacfully on my allotment :)

If you want to be happy for a long time - fall in love.

If you want to be happy forever - take up gardening!

Ahhh that's lovely - very poetic. You've painted a beautiful and very relaxing picture.

Typical isn't it; you have shade all summer when you need light and now there's nothing to grow you have all the light and sun you could wish for.

Weed suppressant and leaf mould though?  :)

Took my shiny new key and made my first trip to my new allotment  :D
There are weeds, but there doesn't seem to be anything evil.
More importantly I found a whole row of raspberries (still fruiting and DELICIOUS), 4 rhubarb plants, some potatoes. There is also borage and great mullein. I don't know if they were deliberate or just moved themselves in! The rest of the plots are beautiful and seem to grow everything.

Did some measuring up and went home to form a plan of attack.

Tomorrow the digging starts....

Still new to this, had our allotment for 5 months...
Dug over one of the beds in the new polytunnel ready for kale, cabbage, psb and spring onions. I have no idea if they'll be better in there or outside...think I might split between the two. Hopefully will get them in tomorrow, if the babies let us!

Went to the local community centre and collected four bin bags of leaves, on the way back spotted and collected 6 bin bags of freshly cut grass on a council green, stopped off and collected three more bin bags of combined mowed leaves and grass where the council mowers had cut grass under a stand of trees.

That's a lot of leafmould and compost. Tomorrow I'll be combining the mowings with shredded bills and the chopped leaves and my finished runner bean plants and some rabbit hutch bedding.

Zippy - life's so exciting! Need to get down the lottie tomorrow and do some digging.  Am driving youngest son to help! Weather forecast looks good though.

Took down the beansticks, dug over the ground, watered my newly planted fruit trees.  Enjoyed the sunshine x

We took out the last of the crown prince squash plants

admired 3 out of 4 of the leek beds, and shook our head at the 4th

Picked a parsnip, some turnips.

Had a bash at the compost bin I cant get anymore in  ::)

dug out the blackberry bush growing in the middle of the plot. Lovely fruit but much too big for my small plot, tried to dig a hole to plant it on the waste ground in the site corner, but couldn't get a fork in.........so it'll go in the skip instead :(

All the plot, except where the winter veg are, is now rough dug, ready for the frosts to help break up the clay :) I'm feeling pretty virtuous when I compare my plot with the other half, which is very overgrown  :(  a real problem.

Went up after work, just as it was getting dark and rescued a Wren from the Brassica netting! It was also very cold up there! This mornings frost was still on the Lawn paths.
