Hope its ok for you :)
If you want to be happy for a short time - get drunk.

If you want to be happy for a long time - fall in love.

If you want to be happy forever - take up gardening!

Painted my new shed and then stood inside looking out enjoying the fact that in this one I can stand up! Then picked more sweetcorn and the last of the beans and realised it was getting dark so made my way home thinking hpw many shelves I could get in the shed.

couldn't do much today as it is a little bit wet after all the rain we had yesterday I checked the onions I planted a couple of weeks ago and they are already coming up and I decided I am going to pull the broccoli as it keeps going into flower straight away. There is a lot of weed to pull so all in all plenty to do still all I want now is a few dry days.

Pulled up some calabrese to make space for japanese onion sets, finished planting out strawberries from T&M and hand weeded half of my puny leeks (not sure if they will ever make anything , still only like thick grass).  Weather forecast for next couple of weeks looks pretty wet but no more worries about empty water butts!

Went to look at things.

Got wet feet.

Made a (long) mental list of everything I'll need to do at the weekend. One weekend off and I feel like I'm a bit behind (but do have the satisfaction of making it to the top of Scafell Pike!).

also collected T&M Onions & Garlic from Post Office - so at least that was (sort of) productive!

Scafell Pike...... well done you!!

I looked out of the door - ignored the bike ride to the plot and settled for clearing the greenhouse listening to the rain on the roof!  ::)

Nothing much this week, as it's been raining. I did manage to pop over on Tuesday night to replant ! the onion sets and have a quick check of everything, weeds are coming on great due to the rain, but so are the brassicas and my kohlrabi :)

Topped up my two cleared borders with soil and compost and then started replanting with various bits from around the garden.

The original shrubs were decimated by the freeze last winter, hence the clearance.

Threw out some of my old pepper plants, cut some leaves of the toms and weeded.  All with the sun on my back.  Lovely. :D

Just the greenhouse this morning.  Unfortunately I am going to be a fair weather gardener because it is raining.  Shame on me. :nowink:

Got down to the plot for around 8:30 this morning.  Dug up some more spuds (nearly all up now) then planted some garlic and sowed some White Lisbon winter hardy spring onion seeds and some winter lettuce. Dug over another section but it got too much for me so I came home for lunch.  Very few people around so lovely and peaceful and sunshine too!  Must remember to bring a flask next time!

harvested 2 pumpkins, couple more spaghetti squash, few small corgettes, some more runners and french beans (only a few still on plant now but still a couple of flowers but I think its really done now), picked some beetroot, some spinnach, lettuce, cut some sunflowers and some other flowers for the house. Plot needs a really good weed, need to turn my attention to finding something to put down on paths as it was very wet today...must get some wellies as well
