Welcome to the site Rob  :D

Feel free to pop over to the Welcome forum to introduce yourself properly  :)

Chutney often tastes better after a couple of months or more, when the vinegar softens a little.

There's lots more info on chutneys on the Cooking / Storing / Preserving board on the forum, and the Recipes part of the main site (see links below banner at top of page).

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

We've had our allotment for approx 8 months and it's the first time we've had a chance at growing anything as we live in a 4th floor flat. It's been a brilliant and frustrating learning curve for both of us having not grown anything on this scale but we're enjoying the discovery of planting and seeing our harvest.  We've had some strawberries, French dwarf beans, COURGETTES(!!), some herbs (coriander and fennel in our raised bed), lettuce and onions! Quite a lot of the seeds we planted have not come to anything which is very frustrating but we're perserving with starting them off at home on our bathroom, kitchen and sitting room window sills before transporting them to our greenhouse and then into the soil - 'You're going outside!' is what they get told!! We're having a bolognese for our tea with our courgettes tonight!!! Mmmmmm - they taste good raw - really juicy!! Good stuff, this allotment malarky! Great site this - will be back for more! Speak soon Ady & Carole Ann

Cut down pea tops and hoed the space, sowed purple top milan turnips.
Watered the pumpkins and the climbing beans........the soil is dry and like sand  :(
The main crop spuds even look as if they are beginning to die back and they've only been in since the beginning of May

cleared salad bed of bolted lettuce, slimey lettuce and slug eaten lettuce  took netting off strawberry bed and weeded, potted up some strawberry runners, sowed some red and green lettuce leaves. Watered everything, gave corgettes, pumpkins and squash a liquid feed.
Just got home now and am cream crackered  :nowink:
I came I saw I grew my own veg

Drove for 7 hours today to Manchester and then back again. was hoping to get to the allotment but was shattered after!

Going down tomorrow after work to check and water. Even though rain is always predicted we have hardly seen any in the last few weeks!
