I had a great couple of hours relaxing at the plot. Just a spot of gentle tending, followed by an hour or so digging. I had a good bit of the plot covered with old carpet and I decided i would lift it today... nothing underneath at all. I think i will try to grow a quick green manure and dig it in over the winter.

Playing Wagner didn't terrorize the tomatores into ripening, still very green, so it's Barry Manilow next.

The cucumber plant is no more, just two came off it so will investigate further for next year.  I think it was caught by the draught everytime the greenhouse door opened so this could have been a contributing factor to it aborting everything.

On the up side, I have loads of lovely ripening growing merrily away so looking forward to having some of those with the tomatoes and spring onions maybe at the weekend.

Done loads of weeding, surprise, surprise.

Spending some time later assessing the state of the greenhouse and deciding if I can affort a new one in the spring.

watered, weeded, and picked a couple of little bits that were ready. O/h has been busy continuing to sieve the third & final bed. Hopefully by the end of next week it will all be done, and will then cover it with black plastic until next year to keep the weeds down.

Built my first netting frame to cover my brassicas today. Simply used canes with bottles on top and draped the netting over. Very simple.

Also picked some more chard and courgettes. Very happy!
