I cut two cucumbers about 20 ins long from that rogue plant sprawling all over the ground  :D

If any seeds are produced later on save some - you may be onto a winner there!  ;)

I hadn't thought of that - I might let the last one fill out a bit. How would I know the seeds were ripe?

Done nothing :( spent all day looking for my deaf sons cochlear implant processor....

He put it somewhere and we cant find it and he cant remember!!    eugh!

I missed being in the garden today AND we still haven't found it either

I did get out to water a few bits though.....

Fairly important, that processor

We still have no water so lugged about 20 cansful 75yds to water the courgettes, sweetcorn, pumpkins and beans.

Brought home green beans, carrots, calabrese and spuds for dinner. Mr Sunny made a cabbage cage HURRAY no more crushed up brassicas under a silly tunnel    Took him 5 hours  :)

I potted up some savoy cabbages and kale.  I am going to try to get them as big as I can before transferring them this time. I am a new polt holder and the last cabbages didn't take too well and got savaged by all sorts of creatures. So I think getting 'em bigger and stronger before they go in might help....

Went with OH on a job this weekend and didn't get back until lunchtime today. Cougettes have turned into marrows so think courgette baked, roasted, stuffed, souped or whatever is the order of the day. Plums are ripening nicely picked a bag full also picked a load of CF beans and half a dozen cucumbers, so cue sandwiches alongside the courgette whatever then.

Just shows the temperatures are slighty higher up in Town, Veg. My plums are still as green as grass astroturf!  ::)

What variety are yours?

Was really fed up with vegetable growing yesterday so when down to the greenhouse last night to discover that hubby had done a fantastic job at weeding round the raised beds, a job I was going to do, bless him.

Felt much better so went into the greenhouse and played some Wagner to the tomato plants, thought this would roust them round a bit to ripen.  Have told them that if they don't raise their game somewhat then next time it will be Rubbish FM, no more Mrs Niceguy.  Just about to go in today and see if my dastardly plan has worked.

Friday - picked 2kg of blackcurrants and made my first ever batch of blackurrant jelly. Cut down the broad beans as they'd got chocolate spot and found all the parsnips that I'd planted between them were all thriving

Saturday - morning at a football tournament with my son (we lost in the semi-finals >:() but cooked and pickled a load of beetroot in the afternoon

Sunday - picked the last of the peas and re-sowed 2 new lines in a wildly optimistic dream of a late crop, lifted 15 good sized onions, sowed carrots, picked lettuce for tea

All done in-between the rain that we've had for all but one day since UU imposed the hosepipe ban.
I'm off for a pint
