finally got my topsoil delivered thanx to my lovely brother in law  :D

2 tonnes of topsoil, filled my large planter and my small one and a bit left too piled up in the corner.

I can get things going now since my growhouse is looking rather lovely n full.

Gave my mum one of the goosegogs bushes I replanted yesterday from my friend, she was really chuffed, made me smile  :)

Not done much else today.....the rain is coming :) off to water a few things before bed.
The goal of life is not to arrive at the graveyard in a well preserved body, but instead to skid in sideways, totally worn out yelling "What a ride!".

A beautiful sunny day - weeded and then planted out some left over tomato plants just to see what would happen (might get a small crop from them and anyway hate throwing anything out) and then picked some outdoor cucumbers.

Haven't been able to get out on my little plot, too wet and my MS doesn't seem to like this weather :( After all the lovely warmth can't remember when we last saw the sun. Glad I got the garlic and shallots up when I did.
The reward of a thing well done is to have done it....

Did a lot of weeding along the fence in the garden plot. Ground elder, Ivy, nettles and creeping buttercup all coming in from next door  >:(

Was hard work cos the ground is like concrete again :(
I've watered the veg in the garden, even though rain is forecast, cos it doesn't seem to arrive when they say it will...sniff sniff

Got wet. Picked peas. Got wet. Picked broad beans. Dried off in the sun. Picked courgettes, strawberries, raspberries, podded peas and broad beans. Got wet. Put things on compost heap. Dried off in sun. Tidied up and moved some weeds. When the rain started again I came home.  :D

Fought off thousands of weeds from mother-in-law's garden next door and thought about ways of getting rid of her, sorry them!

If you want to be happy for a long time - fall in love.

If you want to be happy forever - take up gardening!

watered, weeded, sprayed the runners & green beans with fairy solution to hopefully put an end to the blackfly and then planted some more beetroot & radish seeds.
Seriously considering making a sign for the gate (we share, so no lock), as some "nasty" person keeps opening it and allowing either their's or someone elses dog to do their business all over our plot

Spend ytd: £293.44 (setting up plot 29 has been expensive) Harvest ytd: £163.93 (as at 8/8)

4 weeks  wow! After 4 days I'd be getting withdrawal symptoms  and everything would be dead with the lack of rain.

Bore hole feed seems not to be working don't know why so it was back to the old cans today. Next door plots the same but ones further away OK

That's interesting Sunshine... might be something to do with the underlying geology and its influence on the water table.

Still having cucumber babies aborting, still no ripening of the tomatoes but horror of all horrors, my pepper plants have got little white bugs under the leaves so spent ten mins taking off leaves.

Still fighting off the triffids from mother-in-law's garden - maybe industrial strength insecticide with work - on the mother-in-law not the weeds!!!!  Only joking (or am I?!!!)
