Picked the alpine strawberries which took over an hour, didnt look like they had many on  the more you pick the more arrive.

had to move some sort of squash seed that sprouted in the herb bed, no idea what it is. May not do a thing but I had a spare square

I've been poorly so I haven't been able to get to the allotment today. Shame cos the toms and courgettes could do with some water. So....chilled in the garden and;
- I pricked out and potted all my cabbages and cauliflowers
-  planted out some chard and rocket
- all that didn't take long so I read the paper while my OH looked after me.

I've heard of people using washing up liquid in a spray bottle to get rid of the bugs, Jeyes fluid does the job too does it?

Not for the plant spray (sorry I didnt make that very clear!) but to scrub out the GH to get rid of every bug in sight (hopefully!).  Then I bugged sprayed. with a dedicated bug spray.  I have never used bug spray before, but tried the washing up liquid mix last week, and I think it was too little too late

So I resorted to drastic action for me new (donated) peppers, toms and chillies

had some friends over and they were impressed at what I had done. Picked cabbage, potatoes, peas and beetroot for them.
After they had gone I gave stuff a feed, put in some more beetroot, radishes and tidied up a bit before going home to chicken, potatoes, green beans, peas and carrots all bar the chicken grown from seed by moi  :D
I came I saw I grew my own veg

That's the way to do it  ;) Makes it all very worthwhile - especially being able to share a little with others.  :)

picked peas and sadily some got eaten by small bugs that look like catapillars.

picked a few carrots to see what they look like. Never been able to grow carrots successfully, either they grow and are very small or they over grow very big to something that is eqv to Shrek and got splits in it :(

done some de-weeding, garlic is out, flowers are dying down slowly on the spuds. seems like there are signs of blight on the leaves on the bottom leaves. not sure how to tackle this one, just break the leaves off i would guess?

can see courgettes are growing, little at the moment.

Regarding the peas, these will be the larvae of the pea moth. These enter the immature pod at flowering time. They can be avoided by sowing earlier, covering the crop with fleece or spraying a flowering time.

Regarding blight, there is not a lot around at the mo - north Scotland, south Wales and some suspected in Cornwall. If it just the lower leaves, it may be just old age.

Your location on your profile would be useful.

Regarding the
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
