Bit of watering on the indoor things, looked at the broad beans- getting there, gave the french beans a talking too- 2 inches long at the mo, better let them fatten up a bit before harvesting.
Glowered at the sweet peas- never using that variety again as very very slow growing, and no buds yet!
Chatted to the Cornichon, what am I to do with 1 x 1 inch long mini cucumber??

Off out in a minute to chase snails!
Very often quite lost- would be more lost if I could work out where I was!- But always find my way home.....

Had a massive bonfire - the first in three years so there was lots to go up in smoke!

been eating courgettes for  few weeks, getting sick already :(.  harvested garlic and shallots,  so dry they had given up.  about 30% garlic soft and/or mildew. wonder if one of the planted cloves was an off one?   picked a little swiss chard leaf.

pulled the red bordeaux spinach which has bolted.

planted some aubergines, cherry toms and celery in final postitions.. planted on last of the pumpkins and courgettes if nothing esle just to get them away.

weeded and watered.

Hi there, could you tell me if there is no chance the spinach will come back after it has bolted?  Mine did the same so cut all the tops out hoping it will come back ???
Also could you also tell me if your aubergines are inside or outside.  I have some in the greenhouse but (my fault) as usual I planted too many and don't know where to put them all now so was thinking about finding a sunny sheltered area outside in large pots and see????

Took the whole family to the plot, including our new 3month old who slept all the time!!! We harvested couple of pounds of raspberries, gooseberries, redcurrants. Our neighbours gave us two lettuce and some beetroots - thanks Roger and Eddie!!!!

We also harvested the broad beans. Watered everything and weeded.

Planted 12 butterhead lettuce and 20 summer cabbage which have been waiting patiently at home. Went to BBQ for brassica collars only to be told, "we don't stock them", so I went home and got out some old roofing felt and cut my own. At least I saved a couple O' bob.  :)
Went and fitted the collars then spent an hour weeding.

Loads of weeding for me too. But cleared two beds which now look beautiful.
Watered the seedlings this morning. Still a bit hot to leave it to chance.
Starting to see some red tomatoes.

I love this time of year!   :D :D :D

My mum of ninety has been with me all week so a bit difficult to go to the plot. Deliered her to her flat yesterday so spent most of this morning down on the plot planting out all the cabbages, cauliflour and calabrese, flew back to watch the tennis, then back to the plot to cage in all the brassicas. My OH has made a cage that resembles a kur, I'm thinking of sending out invitations soon

First did the obligatory weed & water.

Met my new neighbour (who told me my plot was an inspiration to him.. :D think we may become friends lol)

Then harvested few broad beans which Mother inlaw turned her nose up at....they were a bit small but I like them like that, chopped them up and steamed them for lunch with the first of my runner beans

Also had loads of peas to harvest managed to get them home before being eaten, and three more courgettes. Happy days!

Roz is my nickname...please don't hate me because I'm named after a slug :)
