Living in a big city keeps those temps a few degrees higher.

Furtled and found some first Earlies (Kestrel) enough for a meal for two.
Planted out the last of the Swedes, then Parsnips, some Fennel, a couple of Celeriac and a Squash all in the Misc bed.
Will need to return tonight to to a general watering - what a shame I'll miss the footy!  :tongue2:

Absolutely goodegg.

Far better as big spuds than "new". I treat them as maincrop, but use them first. Cracking jacket spuds.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Thank you DD and goodegg re: Kestrel. I'll leave them in and treat them as early maincrop as you suggest. They have come up earlier than my real First Earlies - Lady Crystl which are still to show any harvest.

My Lady Christl are also slow, although I believe that they do not always flower due to soil conditions. Mine are in large plastic dustbins/potting compost/manure mixture and are just forming flower buds. They were planted 10/4 so plenty of time yet.
