Put up my new polytunnel, planted some lettuce (plenty left to give to 2 neighbours) and continued weeding. A fair bit of rain fell last night and everything looks better for it, even the bloomin weeds!

at home (no allotment just raised beds with a whole dedicated side garden :-))...today i watered everything,  and planted more carrots, beets, lettuce, spring onion, chives, spinach beet, and some unknown seeds i found unlabelled  and also filled in the gaps in the mangetout... also planted 1 cucumber and courgette indoors (the first 2 didnt germinate)...

Put up guttering for the water butt, to recycle the water. Filled raised beds with compost and put up a tool rack in the potting shed. :)

tying up more  pea netting.  re-sowing  beans after last weeks ,

potted on my toms in the plastic greenhouse, sowed more courgettes, pumpkin & cucumber (frost argh! >:( ) on the windowsill & potted a lovely hanging basket that will eventually hang from my allotment shed.

went round all the DIY shops looking for some of that blue water piping for my brassicas only to find they were all sold out... everyone must have the same idea as me?!

went to the plot and had to get the glysophate out on the weeds in the back corner... they are really getting me down... silly ground elder :(

and generally pottered about watering & admiring the things that are actually growing well on my new plot... the rhubarb is HUGE!

Has anyone got the link to the picture where someone has used the water pipes to make cloches.??
Woooooooooooooo

Transplanted my beetrot into place, weeded, watered and heaved a sigh of relief to have the time to relax for a while....  :)

Glared at the three fox holes!  >:(

small, Welsh and almost certainly bonkers, but can be tamed with Talisker, if required

It is good to see a mild "B..." word is allowed especially when one is so very much called for!  ;)

The little "dears" made three great big holes in a long plastic covered cloche keeping some early crops warm. I was just thankful I had only paid £4 for it rather than the £20 odd some firms charge for similar.

Planted out broad beans, peas, some onions someone gave me, hoed up a pathetic row of beetroot and planted a new lot, sowed rocket, potted cues, toms and peppers into final pots, except the give-aways, they just wnt into larger pots. Weeded and pulled up the kale. No more room for anything else. Runner beans will haveto go in the flower beds.

Planted out my cabbages, more kale, PSB will have to wait until tomorrow as the ground was bone dry so gave it a good soaking.

Also moved all the salads out of the greenhouse to start hardening off.

Oh, and it goes without saying that I spent about an hour hoeing off mare's tail .
First timer, NOT enjoying the backache anymore!

That was cheap, our local merchant charges £25 for the same length, B & Q charge £23.
You will never find time for anything. If you want time you must make it.
