Spent most of this afternoon potting on in the Greenhouse, where it was nice and warm and dry. Picked a Cabbage for tonights dinner of Plot 6b. On plot 20 nothing as it was raining and I did not feel like clearing it anyway.

Sowed a row of beetroot and a row of swede, turned over (lightly) a piece of ground ready for the squash. then came home as it got colder  :(

Unloaded anouther ton of topsoil onto the raised beds. They ar know fully filled, this new stuff came as a fine tilth so I sowed carrots straight into it. But the last of my spuds into a bin and filled with the rest of the topsoil. Prepered the ground ready for the brussels and cabbage. Planted some more sweet peas and then give evrything a good dollop of FBB. Earthed up some more spuds which are just starting to show. All in all a good day. Im realy impressed with my raised beds now that they are fully complete and growing my Christmas veg allready. Looks like I will be able to harvest my own Christmas dinner and for my relatives which was the aim at the begining at it all. Also tomorow  am going to sink a tub next the raised beds and fill with water as a pond for wildlife :)

Plus Ive got half a ton of topsoil left in its bulk bag and have decided to grow something actually in the bag itself. Any ideas of what I could grow in it?

I hope no one wants the bulk-bag back in a few weeks time Jamie  ???

But... sounds a novel idea  ;)

OH earthed up the maincrop pots, he cut the grass, I hoed and earthed up the SE pots.  Still searching for carrots planted three weeks ago? Things are beginning to show, but it has been so dry here and now it's really cold.

Well done Mumofstig, glad you have your plot!

Just harvested some spinach and chard leaves (they seem to love the cold and wet weather) and a couple of asparagus spears (some look like they got frosted a bit at the top) and covered the potatoes with fleece (nights are getting colder again and don`t want my potatoes get frosted like last week).

The only things which are growing at the moment are the green manure (mustard and Phacelia), all other plants seem to have stoped growing.

I have just sown a few red cabbage and calabrese in paper pots,
and watered everything that's being held indoors in pots because of the weather:(

Turned over a patch where my new raised bed is going which will house my courgette plants. Beetroot and spuds are up but havent earthed the spuds yet so hope it doesnt freeze tonight
