i've spent a couple of hours on mine after work today, shifting 5 barrow loads of horse muck into a compost bin and there it will stay untill autum next year. should be well rotted down by then. I'll keep topping it up through out the summer,  :)back willing.

Got stuck in the shed on Tuesday whilst the heavens opened and today I have just walked to post box and was greeted with hailstone. No wonder I cant shift this cold, so I am staying put in the warmth and will do some reading  ;)

Keep warm, hunker down and drink something soothing (anything goes here...just as long as it soothes ;)) and get better soon!

Not only did it hail here, we had a frost last night!

Now that my poor aching body has recovered from the last onslaught of gardening, i want to get out there and do some more!!!

We had three hours of sun so went to the plot and collected wireworms from traps and resited them (only 5 today  :D )
Went to the school plot and sowed beetrrot, carrots, parsnips, turnips, all the cabbages and cauliflowers and peas. Put in onion sets and put netting over everyhting to keep the foxes off.

Also put in most of the seed potatoes as well.

Whew!!

Then the hailstones started  :tongue2:

Some excellent time spent in my humble opinion!

Took a whole load of wooden planks (recycled fencing) from school down to the plot --- then the downpour arrived so we ate our lunch in the car and beat a retreat to the warmth and comfort of home

just back from plot after dropping off 2 truck loads of horse muck and back is aching.I'm going to sow some sweetcorn soon and put in propagator. I've just taken my tommies and cucumber out of the propagator but they look a bit spindly and put on window sill.tomorrow i will try and get my spuds in weather permitting.

I would think it is still too early to sow sweetcorn.......... (or is it just me being super cautious this year )

Bought the wood etc for my munty frame.  Got to pray for some decent weather sometime this week to persuade OH to build it!
