Broke up a few new beds with a mattock and grinned at seeing the grand plan coming to fruition, with a lot of help from friends and partner.

Sowed Banana and Prisma shallot seeds.

Watered the three new walnut trees and two nectarine trees. Glad to see that one of the nectarines is looking jolly and starting to put out some buds. Inspected the old plum trees here before we arrived. One of them is looking like it might be on its last legs, but the other looks like it's still going strong. No idea what they are. Quite a few of the yellow plum stones seem to have grown into trees, so I'll be transplanting one and seeing if anyone else is interested in the others. As for the purple plum that is looking sorry for itself, if there's any fruit, I'll try planting some stones to see if I can get them to grow. Anyone any idea what a purple-skinned plum with yellow flesh that is almost s-shaped might be?

Sowed some leek seeds in an old washing up bowl with a hole in the bottom (knocked through by hail).

Mr Sunny is chief bed planner -- I'll introduce him to seed potatoes at the weekend  :D :D :D

The plot looks brilliant on paper

When they grow -- we only have stones, one lonely broad bean that must have been a refugee from the previous tenant ... and my sticks stuck into the underground potato slices

I managed to dig over a bed that I've been putting off for the last 3 years . I had to sacrifice most of the strawberry plants in it but managed to rescue 5, so at least I have some.

Then I went over the beds I've already done. It's amazing how many weeds grow in just a couple of weeks  >:(.

Haven't got anything planted out yet, will do onion sets at the weekend hopefully but have plenty of seedlings in the greenhouse  :).
First timer, NOT enjoying the backache anymore!
