managed to get some areas marked up on the plot - still need to galvanise OH into helping put up the new shed - have sweet pea sown and some cauli and some flowers seeds in the green house - peas nabbed by mice in the green house- we are over run with them so put down some mice eliminating stuff and the little devils nicked the rest of the peas and put the oat stuff in their place - crafty lot - OH wont go into green house unless he's wearing welllies  :D

Luckily it wasn't one that I can use for veg, so that's cool ... but the wall will cast a smidge of shade on one bed in the other greenhouse, guess who's bed that is :(

ps. oh yeah, congrats on your stars :D

We dug the spud beds and got them ready with manure.  Burnt a LOAD of wood and some grotty planters.  Painted and put up a 6 ft x 6ft fence up.  Sowed my pretty climbers ready for the fences. Put up a bird box and feeder. Cleared a lot of junk out of my shed. Broke up an old bath and put it in the skip. Sowed 200 pea seeds.  Planned my beds out properly. Sorted my seeds out. Priced up the panneling for the new shed. Planted some spring bedding.  Planted some rasberry canes (i think that's what the majority are, labels are a good idea in future )

About to go and start my leek and onion bed.

It was my day off, groundtoo cold to plant in but did put pelleted chicken manure on my bed for spuds.

Have spent most of the day building a stone flower / herb bed in my yard. Not finishedit yet, need OH to help me with some HUGE flat stones that are going on the top, which can be used as seats as well as part of the retaining wall.

Bought another blackcurrant bush and a set of three raspberry canes from garden centre when I went up to invest in a min/max thermometer for the new seed house.

Back to work tomorrow :( but was a lovely sunny day to be out today :)

Yesterday in the beautiful sunshine (but blimmin' cold though) I spent 4 hours digging.  Slow progress as there's lots of couch grass and I've hit a clay pocket.  But managed to get about 5m x 2m done.  Lots do do still though !!
And planted out my garlic which had developed some quite impressive roots in their pots.

Oooow AF have been there (might be there myself in the morn after lugging big stones today). I do sympathise, a bad back is just miserable. :(

Try to take it easy just gentle movement and painkillers. At least the gardening season is not in full flow so you aren't missing too much. Hope it feels better soon.

Prepared a carrot bed, sowed more peas, transferred some tomato plants from greenhouse at home to heated greanhoust at allotment. Sat in the greenhouse for about an hour planning my next move.
There is no better show of antisipation than a man sowing seeds in a field.

Have had two goes today at just loosening the top few inches of soil to make it easier to plant my shallots.

Still frozen in places so all I've achieved is two nice straight rows of icy lumpy soil!

Bah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

Thanks, had to stop in all day dosed with painkillers! I'd just started making a bit more staging for the tunnel, so even a walk for some timber is a no-no"
