Cleared 4 weeks worth of weeds - must have shorter holidays . Planted courgettes, a second row of beetroot, turnips and salad. Picked some baby turnips and made turnip and chicken soup for tea.
The reward of a thing well done is to have done it....

Pulled loads of Rhubarb and froze it .Watered the greenhouses ,Tomatoes setting fruit so feeding every week with Seaweed fertiliser from tomorrow.Picked mixed salad for supper and watered the soil around sad looking pumpkins and courgettes ,which were planted last week ,being careful not to splash the leaves.

Very Hot today ,the rest of the week is going to be cooler so will be better for working in the garden.
Would like to thin out the turnips and beetroot but the soil is very dry on the surface and I would probably disturb the roots I want to keep.

Of to the plot in a minute, will thin lettuce and plant some on in gaps around the plot, sounds like a plan, will plant out celery and do the dreaded watering,

Watered yesterday and day before, broad beans, runners, potatoes growing. Beetroot and parsnip seeds starting to show, no sign of swedes yet though  >:(

Oh and fruit bushes taking over the whole top half of the plot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yay, I finished the final prep of 6 of the dahlia beds today ... left my mate the honour of knocking in 400+ stakes :D ... two more beds ( in that greenhouse ) to go and we can start planting up, should be done and dusted by tomorrow night ... if he manages to get staked up :D ( note to self : take pictures ;) )

Also managed to plant out some of my borlotti's (sp), string beans, runner beans, sweetcorn, courgettes and gherkins. Gonna have to sow some more sweetcorn though because some kind critter decided to eat all the ones that we're left in the small greenhouse :(

Weeded the asparagus bed whilst trying not to upset them by drooling ... gonna be another couple of years before they're on my plate ... patience, patience

Planted some outdoor toms, well 3. Earthed up the last lot of spuds. Planted butternut squash, pumpkins, courgettes and the runner beans that survived the frost, and put netting up ready for the broccoli plants.
Quite a productive evening  :D
