Rotavated bed for second earlies "Charlotte" as going in today. Weeded between onions and shallots and garlic, weeded between carrots, phew lots of weeds now.
I'm queen of my own compost heap and I'm getting used to the smell.

Seemd like a good year for parsnips- just about every seed has germinated.
Wish it was the same with carrots - very little showing yet.
Maincrop and 2nd earlies potatoes are through- no sign of first earlies on the plot yet, although those in pots are racing away and fully eartrhed up.
Put in a late double row of briad beans to see if we can get a decent late crop and
set a row of mange tout peas.
Little by little a bird makes its nest!

I'm way behind with mine after getting a bruised foot last week when the darned dog stood on it. I've just dug over one of my spud beds and planted 40 maincrop Golden Wonder. A day of rest tomorrow as my wife will be out in the car and then on weds, I have another spud bed to dig and 40 King Teds to go in. My 1st earlies are in three plastic dustbins and are about 6" high. I've just covered them and put the fleece back over them.
I'm hurting just a little.........................!

Oh.............. I nearly forgot. Cut a dozen stalks of rhubarb. Crumble tonight!  :)

Today I hoed between my rows of Onions (by the way a plotter on here suggested that you hoe 10 mins at the start and the same at the end of every Lottie's session and for me its really working), then I built a net cage for my brassicas to go in then I planted out some flowers I had in the G/house.

I have started the second digging of where my peas will go and that's it. Oh plus numerous tea and chat breaks.

On Plot 6b, erected Pea netting, sowed some Salsify in a raised bed and covered up the spuds that were showing with Grass cuttings just in case there is a frost. In the Greenhouse potted on some Tomatoes and sought refuge from the rain showers.
On Plot 20 started to Double Dig and weed as I have only just taken it on.

Did another tub of carrots, got out netting to cover strawberries that are flowering but then came hailstone and the downpour. Me and my nephew were sheltering in my 6x4 shed . We waited for it to ease off, shoved everything back in shed and then made a dash to the carpark  >:(
I came I saw I grew my own veg

I went down to the lottie just for a couple of hours and watered all the stuff in the greenhouse, sowed half a row of swede 15 feet long in one of the beds.Did some weeding around garlic. The weather was too cold to hang around so called it a day.
