Today I built a mini Munty  :)
Its only 2 ft by 2 ft but I should get 6 runner beans in.
I'm growing in my back garden this year and this Munty will be over a large container so fingers crossed the plan works.
Grow, dammit, grow.

planted out some little gem lettuce under fleece just in case of frost . Earthed up my 2nd earlies and maincrop but no 1st earlies showing yet . Dug over my brassica bed again waiting for my seredlings to grow a bit so i can harden them off and get them in the bed.Did more weeding and also can't believe how many Dandelions are about this year ! Carrots up and running with 2 rows sowed with a 2 week period in between, parsnips showing ,onions looking good, waiting on leeks to grow a bit bigger in seed tray tommies getting bigger as are cucs and peppers. Peas had some nibbles taken out of them, so if its birds i' ve put some canes and bottles up to deter them hopefully! Picked a good sized spring cabbage for dinner tomorrow. oh and did some more weeding ;)

Far to windy to drag everyone down there today  :(
Yesterday weeding, council are mowing the verges and the dandelion seeds are falling like snow tried scrapping as many up as possible. Added compost to the potatoe planters. Moved the cabages from modules.
What a small list, not sure where all 5 hours we spent down there went, just admiring the "green bits" and wondering how I have managed to not kill them I suppose.
Also met another plot holder,  who told us he was impressed with the amount of work we had put in and that our plot was looking good.  My five year old was bursting with pride  (so was I secretly).  Hope the weather is better tomorrow

I'm just glad that mine is well tied down in the garden  ::)
Mind you it's not even warm in there today...I went in there to potter and came back indoors :(

Garden withdrawal symptoms are setting in now

it's ok it's tied between trees and the hedge  ::)
The only time it suffers are when the winds are so strong that the frame bends in half >:(

In the autumn it is getting a new frame of scaffold poles and blue pipe courtesy of Stig, then I can stop worrying :)

Went up to the plaot yesterday, first time in over a week!!! Had to remove 1' high weeds, weeded the broad beans, tidied up the blackberry bushes and goosberries. Dug over a patch ready for runner beans.

Going back up today to trim down the hugh hedge behind the shed and compost bins, erect a bean frame, and get ready an area for our boys pumpkins - hes very excited about it! Also prepare an area for french beans.

Just sown some carrots in an oblong tub, do I cover them from the dreaded carrot fly from the onset?

Sown my Butternut Squash and Sweetcorn today (first use of Richies paper pots).  Nothing else as the weather is just awful. Spent most of the day rubbing down and repainting some half barrels to use as planters on the front drive, and lazing in front of the telly.  At least I won't need to water for a couple of days. :)

Pouring down with rain so i tided up in the polytunnel.Staked the sunflowers.I built up the sides of my beds in the tunnel so i can put some more soil in for the season. Transplanted some sweet peppers into 3" pots, might be a bit late for any good size ones tho as they only have 3/4 leaves. Just as i thought the rain had eased off i planted 15 cabbage Exell but it really hadnt eased that much so i went home. Saturated! Picked some asparagus before i left.

I sowed some more spring onions and radishes, potted up a few tomatoes, weeded a bit and 'watered' the compost heap. I wanted my boys to do their duty in it but they really think I'm being gross even suggesting such a thing!
