Watered watered and watered. Earthing up the spuds was an impossible task. we really need some rain as the soil is bone dry

Finally finished the right hand side of the garden.  It's gone from a barren space full of glass, concrete, rats, bricks, mangled metal, and the thinnest, nastiest, clay filled soil to this..........Ta da. :)

Now I need to finish the left hand side and build my chickens a des res. :)
Cheese makes everything better.

[how does so much glass get on an allotment?

Thought it was only my plot, I thought previous occupiers had smashed a greenhouse or something

mine was covered in glass, hinges, door, bolts thousands of nails and lots of dead rats!

took a week to dig most of it out and i am still finding things not to mention cutting my fingers all the time!

Thank you all.  Three more large beds going in to the left of the clothes line.  Behind that will be the chickens.  Then a nice lawn, flowers, hot tub, Pimms dispenser, butler, back massager..........no, wait, those last four items were just a fantasy. ::)

Wow that's absolutely amazing progress Ice - looks fabulous, and just in time for growing season too  ;)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Yes, this season will be good but next season will be great.  I can't say how much I have longed for something like this to grow my veg in.  Nine 8x4 beds and three 4x4 now.  There's still room for more but that would be a little obsessive.

Mind you, you can't eat grass so a lawn is excess to requirements. ;)

That's my herb bed.  I've planted the herbs I brought with me from the old house.  It's the heart of my garden given that I love to cook as well as grow veg. :)

All I did was water the plot today. BUT! As OH is away for a week visiting his parents overseas, today for the first time I did find a bus that goes from the front door of where I work right up to the plot (up till now have either had a 25 min walk from home, or gone in the car).

Because obviously I was planning to be driving myself up there this week after work. Until I failed my driving test the other day.  :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2:

The bus option is pretty cool tho'.
