Went down early today and back home for breakfast.
Planet out some Romaine lettuce that had been sown in the greenhouse and erected a netted frame to protect them from the flying rats, Also means I can use slug pellets down without worrying about haring any birds.

Lovely hour in the peace and quiet.  Now off to Sainsburys  >:(

Dug out more nettles than you can shake a stick at and some other roots.

spent an hour and a bit watering and then tried to work out the salsify, its a bed of weeds and unless it starts to look like something edible I am going to scrap it

I manage to escape and actually reach the plot  :)

Weeded:
1 row of autumn onion sets (growing steadily)
1 row of elephant garlic
1 big bed of strawberries

Sowed 1 short row of spring onions

Planted:
2 rows of red onion sets (late I know)
1 row of yellow onion sets (also late)

Watered broadbeans and onions (ground is so dry!)

Set up on 3m mini-polly tunnel for lettuce when the soil has warmed.

Picked what will probably be the last of the purple sprouting broccoli (it has been so worth waiting for... delicious and so cheap to grow!)
Never keep your wish-bone where your back-bone ought to be.
