I'm a newbie on here so first of all..hello everyone!  :)

Today i planted my first lot of seeds - i planted lettuce, cabbage, cauli, carrots, beetroot, parsnips.  I also planted potatoes - new and old, garlic, onions and red onions.
I also planted a couple of strawberry plants - love em!

I then planted a few seeds of tomato and cougette in pots with a plastic cover (they've probably got some posh name!).

I am so excited can't wait to get my first crops through! :D
Gosh you have been busy, I am jealous that you could spend so much time doing what you wanted to do. :D I hope you have a fantastic crop of everything and invite me for my tea.

I'm still prepping up the dahlia beds, but I did spend a nice half hour staring at my asparagus shoots with a stupid smile on my face. Still can't believe they survived being grown by me from seed and transplanted from their nursery/temporary bed :D

Yesterday I escaped to the plot albeit rather late after a visit to my parents and having said I wouldn't be going shoppng with my wife and daughter (they had a good time witout me I'm sure!!).

I got the old rotovator started and off she chugged through one and a half plots that ressembled the Himalayas!!

Result:
  • beautiful looking plot and my rough digging no where in evidence
  • one and half rows of spuds planted
and a very happy me!!

I've only got a small plot in the garden, but dug it over and weeded it ready to sow seeds tomorrow. Pots are filling up with stuff that might be ok,inc taters just showing, garlic, carrots and peas. :)

Raked two big beds over that I dug and manured last autumn.  Put two rows of carrots in and planted 39 SE Kestrels.  Thinking seriously about planting beetroot, and just one row of parsnips 'cos the weather and soil in S. Devon is just great!

I can finally write something on this thread!

Today, I (with help from my mates Lorraine and Tommy) managed to clear an area of raspberry canes and burn them on a bonfire. We also collected all the dead wood from around the plot and burnt that too.
Next job was digging veg patches. Tommy started and dug one approx 30ft by 5ft. I dug one the same size next to his. I'm really pleased with myself as it is the first veg patch I have ever dug  :)
Tomorrow we are going back to rake it over and pick out the biggest weeds. I can't wait to plant some spuds!
