put the early potatoes in and planted parsnips, weeded the raspberries - some of which are spreading in prolific manner.  Thought about raspberry Jam  :nowink:

Was at the plot with the children and it started to rain, the children made lots of wet sticky mud lol, then we had our walk around like they want to do every time we are there.  Planted some pea's filled my potato bucket in the greenhouse then earthed up the spuds.  Come home planted out some radish in the garden then started to make a cold frame from some off cuts of fascia board and it started raining again  >:(

Planted some purple tatties. I have vowed not to bother with these again if they are as small this year as they were last. A curiosity is a curiosity once, not year after year.

Marvelled at how weed seeds manage to break through the hardest of crusts, whereas my shallots seem incapable of pulling off the same trick.

Admired a few things that have done better than I expected. Looks like we should get a good crop of broad beans, and the Mystique caulis are later than advertised on the seed packet but very welcome at this time of year and have an absolutely fabulous flavour and texture.

Spent far too long on this site - what's new? - and cheered as it began to rain. (True!)

I managed to get the repaired polytunnel cover on the repaired  frame just before it started drizzling  :) There was a lot of repairing to do...I can tell you

All the wood surrounds are now in place and fixed, holding the poly down. Stll got some digging to do inside, but that'll be no problem now it is covered.

It will help relieve the overflowing greenhouse  ::)

What plot??  ???

Not seen mine for at least two weeks  but my dad and I did manage to make loads of paper pots and sow loads of climbing french beans  today :)

It's at least got my dad back into the gardening routine after a year of feeling he can't do anything much at all. Now he's busy telling me what I should be doing and at 95 he has some pretty good ideas!  ;)

I spent an hour watering and then I noticed that my asparagus that I'd recently transplanted from their seed beds was up already, only another few years to wait but I can already taste them :D

Spent the rest of the day doing the first prep of the dahlia beds which will consume most of the rest of the week.
