Planted the left over spuds in bins and then pricked some sprouts and cabbages into pots :)

I had a very productive day today :)

I got 3 different types of potatos into the ground (still lots to go though!!), planted 10 strawberry plants and did lots of digging!

My 2 year old son came down with the other half for an hour too... He was great. He helped me carry the watering can and he was even digging with his little spade.. I really didnt mind when he stood on the garlic haha ;)

Other half got some sweat peas out onto some canes so hopefully might get some colour in a month or so!!

V tired now though and starting to ache already!! Not looking forward to work tomorrow!

Dropped off two blue barrels that we collected from where Mr Sunny works  :D

Will be using them for water barrels of course --- just need to fit taps

Planted my last three rows of potatoes - maincrop Cara, Sante and Vales of Sovereign, then put in a row of beetroot plants (from seed) along with a row of rocket, a row of mixed leaves, and a row of spinach.

Oh, and planted out two double rows of Sutton broad beans...approx. 60 beans, around 80 left to go then...

All good here, not sunny, but fine, not bad for a Bank Holiday....

Phill  :)

Got the last spuds in, dug over the legume bed, tidied up the compost heap, fed the birdies (I'm birdy buffet central), planted out some spring onions and leeks I started in paper pots a few weeks ago, planted out the first broad beans, took the old leaves off the purple sprouting and obsessively checked the asparagus bed (they'd better come up this year!).  Harvested the first of the rhubarb, very nice!   :)

Managed 2 hours digging over 6-8 this evening.  I got my spuds in at the weekend so just need to finish weeding the quarter I got at new year and then workout what to grow.  I have planted seeds but apart from the leek seeds which appear to have all germinated not a sign of anything else either sown direct or in trays in the porch.  It is still early and as we are now getting 4 minutes a day extra sunlight things should fly soon.  I have to get things done before Friday when we go away for a week then the club fishing seasons starts taking 2 Saturdays a month out of the equation.
Time waits for no man and I can't wait for growth.
