Went back mid afternoon as the sun was out and dug out a 12 m x 1m bed for the fruit bushes: OH pegged out the other beds for me to dig tomorrow and Sunday

Just need to work out which raspberries are autumn fruiting and which summer before I plant them  :D

I started my sweetcorn off in the propagator in mid march last year and had no problems ,i just kept them in an unheated greenhouse a few weeks which is a bit like a cold frame environment. this year i'm a bit later so i'm not worried at all .I don't live in sunny Spain either but sunny Cleethorpes on the east coast . ;)

That makes me feel better.... coffee sounds good and I'm not being left too far behind by everyone else.

Dry weather needed  ;)

Looks just the job!  ;) An amazingly economical build too.

Had you thought of a few hefty stakes and some guy ropes (similar to a tent) to help it take the strain when the wind picks up?

Just  thought.

no i bought the stakes and had leftover timber lying around the yard for the arches. i drove a 50cm metal stake thing into the ground and attatched some fishing netting and draped it over the other side! we had really strong winds last night and it didn't budge :D

Bought the wood etc for my munty frame.  Got to pray for some decent weather sometime this week to persuade OH to build it!

What are muntys?

Don't think i've ever grown those ;)

It's been raining...so nothing doing outside. Cleaned the house instead Does that count?

Munty designed a bean frame that has been adopted by many members. A quick search on Munty Frame will throw it up for you  :D

Put a sweet pea frame up  :D
I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

I'm going up shortly to see if the plot is workable and to put up  posters for  the upcoming Skittles Night for our Allotment members.

morning Nige - just off myself to also see if workable. If it is, then I'm there for the day!
small, Welsh and almost certainly bonkers, but can be tamed with Talisker, if required
