I must admit I'm pleased with it myself as it was all done in about an hour and a half before it got too dark  :) :)

Are you not putting down a pallet to keep the compost off the cold ground and allow air passage beneath ?    Cheers,   Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

Ah! Now funny you say that but the wife said that but I thought she was mad.

I thought it better to have it on the ground for the worms etc?

also, my home compost bins arent on pallets?

After picking up my new strimmer/bush cutter on Saturday I had to go up to the plot to strim something whether it was raining or not :)

Paul, this is the same design that we did for the muck heap for our horses. It has been up over four years and has been great :D

We have dug over all of our beds and planted green manure in 7of them . The chickens loved scratching around in the beds. At least now if it snows this week the garden has been sorted.

Checked the max/min, -5ºC.
Walked the perimeter fence with another commitee member, as someone has stolen a wheelbarrow!

Got down the plot for the first time in a while yesterday and cut back the autum rasps and the older asparagus bed, also cut some bamboo to use as canes for my strugiling sprouts, also picked out the tops as Gardners Question time advisded this would help.

Finally I planted out 2 full bulbs of solent wight garlic.  just hope the snow does not kill it!  Not that I am expecting snow this fas south just yet.

I still have about 15 small suash to use up sat in a shed, think a nice soup is in order.

Have to find time to give the beds a nice covering of compost and manure now.

I've done some more work on my pallet compost bins, managed to get one and a half lined with cardboard / plastic, get several bags of organic waste from my back yard to the bins and get some carpet on top.

Still need to get a couple of front pallets though and line them too I guess.

Today it's gone from this

to this  :)

Got down to the allotment for 2hrs today! First time in a while!! Was so nice to get some fresh air!! Planted out 30 raspberry canes, sorted out my 60 strawberry plants ready for planting this weekend and pulled 3 leeks and 2 swede!!

Did a lot of planning where the new greenhouse and next years crops are going!!! Keep changing it all the time!!!

Bring on spring i say!
Start at the beginning, and finish at the end!!

Finally gave up on the peas I planted before the drought?  A few flowers but not coming to much so up they come.  They are spread over a bed now waiting to wilt so I can dig 'em in.   Cheers,   Tony.
